Privacy policy

This policy explains what Nutrio collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. We aim to collect only what we need to run an AI meal-planning app. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Information we collect

• Account — your email address, and your name/avatar if you sign in with Apple or Google.
• Household & preferences — your dietary preferences, restrictions, goals, schedule, and household members you invite.
• Generated content — the meal plans, recipes, and grocery lists we create for you, and the inputs used to generate them.
• Subscription status — whether your household has an active Nutrio Premium subscription (via our payments provider; we never see your card or Apple ID credentials).
• Device & usage — basic app and device information, and diagnostic/crash data to keep the app working.
• Product analytics & session recordings — which screens you visit and which actions you take, and a screen recording of your app session so we can see where the app is confusing or broken. Text you type into form fields is masked out of these recordings, and we never record payment or password entry.

How we use it

We use your preferences to generate and personalize meal plans; your email for transactional messages (plan ready, plan failed, account changes) and, if enabled, push notifications; and diagnostic data, usage analytics, and session recordings to fix bugs, understand where people get stuck, and improve reliability. We process this data to provide the Service you've asked for and to keep it secure.

AI processing

Meal plans and recipes are generated using a third-party AI provider. To create a plan, we send the relevant preferences and constraints (not your email or contact details) to that provider so it can return a plan. We don't use your data to train third-party models beyond generating your plan.

Service providers we share with

We share limited data with vendors who process it on our behalf, only to run the Service:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Google Cloud — application hosting and infrastructure.
• RevenueCat & Apple — subscription management and in-app purchases.
• Apple & Google — optional sign-in (Sign in with Apple / Google).
• Anthropic — AI generation of meal plans and recipes.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Expo — push notification delivery.
• Sentry — error monitoring and diagnostics.
• PostHog — product analytics and session recordings.

These providers are bound to use the data only to provide their service to us. We don't sell data or share it with advertisers.

Data retention

Generation logs (the prompt and response exchanged with the AI provider) retain their full body for 30 days, then metadata only. Plans and grocery lists are kept for the lifetime of your account so you have history. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

Your rights & choices

You can view, modify, or delete your data at any time from Settings → Account; account deletion is self-service and complete. Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Children's privacy

Nutrio isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use encryption in transit, secure credential storage on your device (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), and access controls scoped to your household. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and respond to issues promptly.

International users

Nutrio is operated from the United States, and our providers may process data in the U.S. and other countries. By using Nutrio, you understand your data may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws than yours.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
